Terri Webb was found dead in the River Wye near Hampton Park on 27 December 2016.
A 48-year-old man who had been a friend of Terri Webb was tried for her murder but acquitted at a trial at Worcester Crown Court in October 2018.
She was last seen on 14 November 2016 by the 48-year-old man who said that they had walked along the riverside at about 1.30pm near the Aldi store.
When Terri Webb was found she was wearing only her jeans and underwear. The rest of her clothes were later found underneath her father’s car about three quarters of a mile away from the river.
It was heard that the 48-year-old man and his partner had called the police on 16 November 2016 expressing concern for Terri Webb's disappearance and stating that they were worried as she had been in an emotionally fragile state when they last saw her and might have been at risk of taking her own life. However, it was noted that at no stage did the 48-year-old man mention that he had last seen Terri Webb two days earlier on 14 November 2016 by the river.
At the trial, the prosecution said that the call was 'absolutely inexplicable' and that it had been orchestrated to divert attention from themselves.
The inquest into Terri Webb's death stated that her body was too decomposed to determine a cause of death.
At the time Terri Webb had been trying to get her three children back from the social services and was described as a tragic figure but also as someone that had everything to live for.
Although the 48-year-old man was acquitted of murder, his partner admitted assisting an offender.
