The body of a newly-born male child was found in a parcel at the Bangor Railway Parcels Office.
The lungs floated in water indicating that the child had had a separate existence and around its neck there was a stocking tied so tightly that it was with difficulty that the doctor who examined the body could put his finger between the stocking and the child's neck. The foot end of the stocking had also been forced into the child's neck.
The cause of death was given as strangulation.
