John Yates

John Yates was stabbed to death on his doorstep in Elm Grove, Wardle, in the early hours of Saturday 27 April 1986.

He was found on his doorstep fully dressed apart from his shoes and socks.

The police said that his killer would have been blood-soaked.

John Yates had been a taxi-driver and had recently split up from his wife two weeks earlier.

He had just finished a shift for Castleon Taxis at 5am.
