Human Remains

Age: unknown

Sex: male

Date: 12 Apr 2021

Place: M6, Wednesbury

Human remains were found in some rough woodland off the M6 near junction 9 at Wednesbury in the West Midlands on the evening of 12 April 2021.

They were found near to the IKEA store off an embankment on Axeltree Way, close to the railway line and the River Tame.

The remains were thought to have been there for some time and to have belonged to a middle aged man.

However, the police said:

The death is not being treated as suspicious, and we’re still trying to formally identify the deceased.

However, it was also noted that it was not the first time human remains were found by motorways in the West Midlands area, with two other noted incidents:

  1. 2015: Remains of Surjit Takhar near M54. He went missing in 2008.
  2. 2010: Remains of unknown person near junction 2 of the M5 at Oldbury.
