Suspected human remains were found in the River Chess at Rickmansworth.

They were found shortly before 10am on Thursday 3 November 2021.

The police said:

Detectives from the Three Rivers Local Crime Unit attended the location and a scene guard was put in place before enquiries begun. The remains have now been recovered and are currently undergoing forensic testing. The scene guard has since been lifted and the police inquiry is continuing.

Nothing more is known.
