Tom Pepper, Simon Ashley and Martin Shaw went missing in December 1964.

Tom Pepper's body later washed ashore around 18 December 1964.

The had run the pirate radio station Radio Invicta and had gone out to their base on a second world war fort in the North Sea, but were never seen alive again.

Foul play was suspected but could not be proved.

An open verdict was returned at Tom Pepper's inquest.
