Winifred Maud East was found decapitated on the railway between Kidbrooke and Eltham.
She was seen to enter a private compartment in a carriage which was empty at Barnehurst railway station but just before the train left a man was seen to jump in. people in nearby compartments heard screaming between Kidbrooke and Eltham stations and the next day her body was found on the tracks.
