Age: 23

Sex: male

Date: 31 May 2021

Place: Montrose Park, Edgware

Al-Sadiq Mohamed Ishaq-Adam was killed following a robbery in Montrose Park in Edgware on 31 May 2021.

Several people were charged for various offences, including two for murder, but there is no trial result. They were last  reported to have stood trial at the Old Bailey on 5 September 2023.

The two men tried for his murder were 19 and 20 years old.

Several other people were charged with lesser offences, some of which were admitted. They were:

  • 21-year-old man from Capitol Way, Edgware: Admitted robbery but denied violent disorder.
  • 17-year-old youth from north-west London: Denied robbery and violent disorder.
  • 20-year-old man from Swanage Way, Hayes, west London: Denied robbery.
  • 20-year-old man from Lancaster Close, Edgware: Admitted violent disorder but denied robbery.

The court heard that Al-Sadiq Ishaq-Adam had been attacked after trying to get his gold jewellery back from a group of youths that had robbed him.

They attacked him in the park, punching and kicking him and knocking him down, after which he was then stabbed in the heart as he got back up.

Al-Sadiq Ishaq-Adam and his friend had been walking through Montrose Park when they were followed by a group of youths into Silkstream Park where Al-Sadiq Ishaq-Adam was robbed. After robbing him the group was said to have gone back to a basketball court in Montrose Park where they had originally been, but Al-Sadiq Ishaq-Adam followed them in an effort to get his jewellery back.

The prosecution said:

The sole intention of the group as they followed Asadiq and his friend was to rob Asadiq of the gold chains he wore around his neck.

It was heard that once in Montrose Park, the group of youths split up into two groups and formed a pincer movement to surround and trap Al-Sadiq Ishaq-Adam and someone grabbed his jewellery and ripped it from his neck. The jewellery was described as rapper's bling.

It was said that following the robbery the group went back to a baseball court in Montrose Park and that Al-Sadiq Ishaq-Adam followed them in an effort to get his jewellery back. However, he was attacked and killed. The prosecution noted:

He was subjected to a vicious group assault because he had the temerity to try and recover his gold chains from them. During the course of that assault and having deliberately armed himself with a knife, One of the men on trial delivered the fatal stab wound,

The prosecution further submitted that the other man on trial, the 19-year-old, who had been 16 at the time, had moments before handed the other man the knife.

However, the two denied murder and there are no trial results.
