Colin Johnson was found dead in a flat.

His body was so decomposed that his cause of death could not be determined.

An open verdict was returned.

It was heard that he had in fact been conning people a few years earkier into beliving he was a wealthy Royal Navy Admiral and friends with George Bush.

When his flat was searched the police found 18 identity badges and other documents for high rankinf US and Isreali military officers.

He also had an operators licence in his name to captain giant 60,000 tonne oil tankers, plus a naval captains uniform.

The police also found official CIA and Ministry of Defence rubber stamps.

It was later found that he had emigrated to America in 1975 where he had convinced people he was a multi-millionaire but later convicted of deception and sentenced to 20 years. However, he was released after 2 years on health grounds and deported back to England.

The inquest heard that it would never be known how he died.
