Sidney Ketteridge

Sidney Ketteridge died after being robbed.

He was hit by a white Vauxhall Cavalier car in Alum Rock Road at the junction with Bowyer Road.

It was heard that after being knocked down that someone from the car went over to Sidney Ketteridge and then back to the car which then sped off. 

It was thought that the person had actually robbed Sidney Ketteridge as his watch and wallet were found to be missing after the incudent.

The car was sold the following day for scrap and was found to have had false numberplates. The man that sold the car was traced, but it could not be proved that he had been driving the car at the time.

An open verdict was returned.
