Michael Edgar

Age: 27

Sex: male

Date: 29 May 2021

Place: Laws Street, Pembroke Dock

Michael Edgar was found injured in Laws Street, Pembroke Dock in the early hours of 29 May 2021.

It was thought that he had been run over by a slow moving vehicle.

An open verdict was returned at his inquest.

He had been out drinking earlier in the evening and had later taken a taxi with some friends to another pub. He later walked a friend home and after that, at about 3.35am, the emergency services were called with reports of him being found injured in the street.

He was taken to Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest, but later died.

He died from multiple injuries.

His post mortem examination found that he died from blunt injury to the belly and laceration of the liver.

Blood tests showed that he had had alcohol and cocaine in his system.

The pathologist said that his injuries were consistent with him being run over by a slow moving car and that it appeared that he had already been lying in the road when he was run over.

However the Coroner noted that it was not known why he had been lying in the road and that all they could do was speculate, suggesting  that he might have fallen over because he was drunk, and an open verdict was returned.
