Eleven people died in a plane crash on the A19.
The pilot was tried for manslaughter but acquitted. However, an inquest held in December 2022 found that they were killed unlawfully, stating that the cause of the crash was the manner in which the plane was flown and that the pilot would have had opportunities to escape the manoeuvre and prevent the crash. The Coroner said, 'In my view, this goes beyond a mere mistake'.
