A 34-year-old man was charged with his manslaughter but nothing more is known.
He had been attacked outside the Kebab House in Liscard Village, Wallasey on Thursday 1 August 2019 and was taken to hospital where he died on Monday 5 August. The police had been called out at 12.45am.
