The body of a newly-born female child was found in the River Tone at French Weir on Friday 17 June 1960.
The body was found by a man that had been walking in French Weir fields when he saw the child's body floating under a bush.
The inquest, which was held at Standfast's George Tavern, heard that it was impossible to state whether the child had been born alive and an open verdict was returned.
