Curtis Kinsella was stabbed Alwyn Street, Aigburth on 6 September 2004.

He had been stabbed in the back with a kitchen knife whilst celebrating his sister's 13th birthday in the front garden of his mother's house. He had been playing with his younger cousins outside on the street outside.

He was stabbed after being grabbed by a group of four men that had got out of a silver saloon car at about 6.30pm.

It was heard that about an hour before his murder that a larger group of men had met in the Aigburth Arms pub, not far from Alwyn Street, and got ready to find Curtis Kinsella's brother, but that when they saw Curtis Kinsella, they decided to take their revenge out on him instead.

They were described as having stormed the area and to have knocked Curtis Kinsella to the ground and to have then stabbed him multiple times, before running off.

Following his stabbing, Curtis Kinsella managed to stagger into the house and was then taken to the Royal Liverpool Hospital where he died, without regaining consciousness.

Three people were arrested in September 2005 whilst another five were arrested in July 2010, but no one was charged.

Curtis Kinsella had been a car mechanic.
