James Alan Crowther died after being attacked in a car park in Birkenhead on 28 June 1992.
He was taken to Arrow Park Hospital where he died.
A man was tried for his manslaughter at Liverpool Crown Court, but acquitted after claiming that he had acted in self-defence. However, his death is still reported as unsolved by the Liverpool echo.
James Crowther had been a bus washer from Rock Ferry.
