David Llewellyn died following a fight involving a number of people.
He died from acute meningitis.
Another collier was arrested on a charge of causing his death by striking him with his fist, but he denied the offence.
It was heard that the evidence was not sufficiently clear to show whether one blow or another had caused his death and an open verdict was returned.
