Annie Elizabeth Reeves

Annie Elizabeth Reeves died from a septic abortion at the Cardiff Royal Infirmary in November 1948.

An open verdict was returned at her inquest on Saturday 27 November 1948.

She had initially been sent to the Church Village Hospital, but a report handed to her was not delivered to her doctor. When her doctor later went to see her, he ordered that she be removed immediately to the Cardiff Royal Infirmary where she was treated for a miscarriage.

The doctor that carried out her post-mortem said that she died from acute necrosis of the liver with pneumonia following a septic abortion.

Annie Reeves had been a married woman and had lived in Fairview Terrace, Abercynon.
