Dennis Kenneth Evans

Dennis Kenneth Evans was found dead on the Warwick Road in Hampton Lucy shortly after midnight on 14 February 1944.

A motor vehicle was thought to have been involved, but the police said that enquiries and a BBC appeal revealed nothing.

His inquest heard that it seemed as though he had been knocked down by a car, but that there was no definite evidence and as such it was not possible to say how he came to meet his death and an open verdict was returned.

Dennis Evans had been a corporal in the RAF.
