George Tegis Lloyd was found dead on a railway line.
He was a private with the Parachute Regiment and was from Liverpool.
He was last seen asleep on a Post Office trailer on the GWR station platform at Bath at about 2.15am on the Saturday 1 January 1944.
He was later found lying fatally injured on the permanent way having evidently been run over by a train.
An open verdict was returned.
