Michael Healy was knocked over by a car that had no lights and which afterwards drove off on 18 November 1950.
He had been employed by contractors working at Lakenheath Aerodrome and was killed near the camp close by where he was staying.
The police said that they had been unable to trace the car with no lights that had hit him.
At his inquest on Tuesday 19 December 1950, a verdict of 'manslaughter against some person or persons unknown' was returned.
