The body of a newly-born child was found in a sack in a pond at Pond Farm, Weeley Heath.
It had been in the water for about three weeks.
It was found by the farm foreman who had waded in to get it.
He found that the sack was tied with string and that inside there was another sack which contained the body of the baby.
The doctor said that there was no sign of injury.
