The mummified remains of a newly-born child were found in a false roof at 5 Oak Mount, Bradford.
The body was discovered by a man that was doing repairs at the property that necessitated getting into the false roof.
He said that he found a bundle wrapped in coarse canvas and that when he opened it he found that it contained a piece of female clothing and the mummified body of a child.
When the police examined the parcel, they said that they found a number of articles of female clothing and several handkerchiefs on which were several laundry marks.
Laundry marks were said to include: Amy, Kate, C and something like Walton.
The parcel also contained a newspaper dated Saturday, May 20th 1911.
A doctor said that the child had been dead for some years.
An open verdict was returned.
