The body of a newly born child was found wrapped up in a parcel on the doorstep of a house in Ewesley Road.
The body was wrapped up in a portion of cream-coloured paper blind and some sacking.
It was thought that the child had died from exposure and had probably died a few hours before it was found.
The Coroner noted that it seemed obvious that the child had been deposited on the doorstep when it was alive and that the jury could return either an open verdict or one of wilful murder.
An open verdict was returned.
