A skeleton was found in the gravel pits near Wyre on the Pershore-Evesham Road.
The bones were found by a labourer who said that they were only 2ft 6in below the ground and just above the sand level.
The bones were complete though detached and took up a space of about 3ft.
A doctor said that the skeleton was one of an adult that had been about 5ft 4in tall and that it had been buried not less than ten years ago and possibly up to fifty years ago.
He said that he could not say that death had been caused by anything other than natural causes.
