Saima Ahmed went missing from her home in Wembley on 30 August 2015 and was later found dead in the grounds of Gogar Mount House in Edinburgh on 9 January 2016.
It was not known why she had gone to Edinburgh, and no evidence of foul play has been found.
She had been reported missing on 31 August 2015.
It was thought that she had gone to Edinburgh, probably by train, on Sunday 30 August 2015.
She was last seen between 8.30am and 11.06am on Sunday 30 August 2015 at various locations around Wembley:
It was not clear where she went from Northampton but thought that she continued her journey on through Hemel Hempstead, Birmingham and onwards to Edinburgh. In all sightings she had been apparently alone.
She was described as an Asian female, about 5ft 5in tall, of medium build and with shoulder length straight dark hair. When she was last seen she had been wearing a dark long v-neck top, black trousers, black shoes and a black jacket.
It was noted that on the first anniversary of her disappearance that five policemen from the Metropolitan Police were facing a misconduct investigation over their investigation after it was heard that they had treated her case as 'low risk' following her disappearance. Then, in July 2017 it was heard that an acting detective chief inspector with the Metropolitan Police was also facing a misconduct hearing over his handling of the investigation.
