James Voyce and his adopted son Samuel Henry King were found dead at their farm in Eldersfield. They had died from cyanide poisoning.
Four grains of cyanide of potassium were found in James Voyce whilst 1.3 grains were found in Samuel King. It was thought that the poison was probably taken in water.
A manufacturer that had visited the farm said that James Voyce's blind brother had made an accusation against James Voyce's wife but she strenuously denied it.
