Mark Corcoran was stabbed to death in Whitehorse Lane, South Norwood on 14 February 2010.
After being stabbed he staggered about 100 yards to the Subitha Food and Wine shop at 8.20pm to ask for help and soon died there.
He had a single stab wound to the chest.
The murder took place on Whitehorse Lane near the Crystal Palace football ground where there had just been an FA Cup football match between Crystal Palace and Aston Villa and police said that they were interested in speaking to anyone that had been in the area just after 7.30pm.
The police said that they knew that Mark Corcoran had attended a wedding earlier on in he day and appealed for anyone that had knowledge of his movements there or after to come forward.
The cause of death was stated as being a centimetre-wide stab wound to the heart.
When he had gone into the Subitha Food and Wine shop he had unzipped his jacket to reveal his injury and asked the owners to call the police.
The police said that they were satisfied that it was a deliberate attack on him and not an accident.
A man was arrested soon after his death on suspicion of his murder but was not charged. The police later said in 2014 that the man that was arrested, who was in his 40s at the time, was still the prime suspect.
Mark Corcoran was a builder and had lived in Freshfields, Shirley.
