Daniel Dennis was shot in his car as he drove along Brassie Avenue near to East Acton tube station.

He had been driving along in a black BMW 118 5-door saloon car when another car drove alongside his car and fired shots at him at 10.30pm on Wednesday 17 September 2007. The other car then sped off.

Both cars were thought to have come out of Old Oak Common Lane and turned onto Brassie Avenue. The other car then fired at Daniel Dennis as they came up to St Andrews Road.

He died a few hours later in the early hours of 18 September 2007 in Charing Cross Hospital in Hammersmith. He had a gun shot injury to the head.

Five people were arrested in relation to his murder but released without charge.

It was thought that his killers might have come from the Harlesden and Brixton areas.

Daniel Dennis was also known as Iceberg.

The gun said to have been used to kill Daniel Dennis was thought to have been a Mac10 that had been one of 90 Mac10 guns bought by a man in Reading, Berkshire, as blank firing replicas for the film industry but converted to fire live rounds and sold to the criminal underworld. The man was later arrested and convicted for conspiracy to convert an imitation firearm into a firearm, conspiracy to sell or transfer firearms and ammunition, possession of a firearm with intent to enable another person to endanger life and possessing a prohibited firearm and several other offences.
