A child was found naked on the railway near Burscough Junction Station having been thrown out of a carriage window.
The child was about 6 weeks old and was dirty and had been neglected.
The doctor stated that he thought the child had been alive when she received her injuries and she had died from compression of the brain due to a head injury.
He also thought that an opiate had previously been administered to the child and that in that condition she had been thrown out of the train carriage.
