An 18 day old child died after being practically boiled to death.
The mother was unable to account for the marks on the child saying that she gave the child a bath on the Monday and mixed hot and cold water and put her hand in to see that the water was not too hot.
The coroner said, 'Some women don't know how to make a bath for their children. They put some water in a basin, then put the child in. If the child goes red the bath is too hot, if it goes blue the bath is too cold. I cannot help thinking the mother has not told us all she could about this.'
