Kathleen Leonard was found dead in the Regents Canal.
She had two deep gashes on her head and a lacerated wound on her leg. The medical evidence showed that the injuries on her body were inflicted during life.
She had been in the water for about seven days and her cause of death was due to drowning. However, it was heard that there was little evidence to show how she got into the water and an open verdict was returned.
She was described as a well-dressed woman.
