Parvez Akhtar

Parvez Akhtar was found strangled in the back seat of his car in Fairbank Road, Girlington on 12 January 1986.

Parvez Akhtar had been a co-owner of the Mehraan Restaurant in Duckworth Lane.

He was last seen earlier on 12 January 1986 when he left the restaurant to take staff home.

When he was initially found, it was thought that his name had been Mustaf Hussein, but it was found that he had only used that name since coming to England in 1976.

During the investigation into his murder the police went to Pakistan to the village where he was born, Jaral Kaln in the north-west region to carry out inquiries, where other members of his family still lived.
